Philadelphia improviser: Alexis Simpson

Alexis Simpson

Alexis has been improvising since 2000 and teaching/coaching since 2004. She has studied under Keith Johnstone, Matt Walsh, Chris Gethard, Asaf Ronen, Joe Bill, and Mark Sutton. She co-founded the sketch and longform improv group The Throng while attending Haverford College, longform trio Rare Bird Show in 2003, Real Housewives of Philadelphia in 2009, and has been a member of ComedySportz Philadelphia since 2005. In 2009 she began performing with the Los Angeles-based troupe EXTRA-STRENGTH, an iO West Mainstage show dedicated to reviving the 3 Mad Rituals format. She has performed with her various projects all over North America, including appearances at the Del Close Marathon, the Philadelphia Improv Festival, the ComedySportz World Championships, the Toronto Improv Festival, and the Chicago Improv Festival. She is a recent graduate of the Arden Theatre Company's Professional Apprentice program. When she rides the bus, she loooooves to eavesdrop.
